Most of the sacked employees belonged to the short video platform’s e-commerce and local life service units, according to a post on Douyin’s official WeChat account. Such anti-fraud movements are common in China’s tech sector, with the firms regularly reporting the results to the public. Tencent dismissed more than 120 staff for bribery and corruption last year.
