The newly completed manufacturing site, situated near Shanghai in Kunshan city, is slated to serve as Starbucks’ national production and distribution hub in China, as stated by the company. Laxman Narasimhan, the new CEO of Starbucks, expressed to Chinese media outlets that China “presents tremendous opportunities” for the company, given that the current per capita coffee consumption in China remains relatively low compared to that of the US and Japan.[Starbucks]
